It is wonderful to celebrate and worship with our Lutheran brothers and sisters. On February 7th when Faith Lutheran church came and shared worship with us it was great to see a full church and listen to the singing resonate from the rafters. We trade off worshiping at each other’s church once a quarter.
During Christmas and Easter we celebrate with each other often. For the past 3(?) years we have done our Lenten mid-week studies together. What this consists of is getting together for a simple supper of soup and bread. Doing a study and conversation led by pastors from both churches. Ending with a prayer together to help us focus on the Easter season. All are Welcome and guests are invited. I would encourage you to come to one or all. You might even like these studies.
Why the congregation of Faith Lutheran you may ask. Wellllll, they have similar philosophies. We are both open and welcoming to all. We have both been in the community a long time and some of us have relatives attend the Lutheran church. Often in our discussions there is a slightly different point of view presented which leads to aspects we might not think about.
So look at the following calendar and see if there is sometimes that you can participate. When we go to Faith Lutheran and you have mobility issues, do not be put off by the stairs. In the middle of their structure is a slight incline ramp we can use for entering and exiting. Please feel free to use these doors.
The mid-week studies do not build on each other so even if you miss some you are always welcome to attend what you can.
Mid-week Lent. Please join us at 5:30 pm for dinner and 6:00 pm for Bible study, conversation and prayer each Wednesday.
